Promotional Product Kits
Promotional product kits are a trendy way schools and businesses are connecting with audiences.
Recently, more and more businesses have been inquiring about creating product kits. What's great about these kits is that they can be customized not only with color and imprinting, but groups of products can be packaged together with personalized messaging, then shipped directly to your audience. A great example I'd like to share with you is the story of Stonehill College's incoming class of 2020.
Case Study: Stonehill College & COVID-19
For higher education (especially private colleges and universities), COVID-19 wreaked havoc on classes, events, and especially with incoming Freshmen.
My contact at Stonehill contacted me early in the spring of 2020 to see if I had any ideas on how to connect with incoming students who wouldn't have the traditional orientation and Freshman year experience. Don't get me wrong, nothing can truly replace those special moments, but one idea we came up with together was to surprise each incoming student with a personalized gift box full of Stonehill branded products. This would serve as a small token of appreciation and recognition that the situation wasn't great, but Stonehill was thinking about them.
The process of creating these personalized gift boxes took place in 3 simple steps.
Step 1. Pick the products:
Once we settled on the idea of a welcome kit, I listened to the ideas my contact had for products and together we found 5 products that we felt made sense in terms of tone, timeline, and budget.
Step 2. Provide imprints, names, and addresses:
After choosing products, Stonehill provided us with all of the artwork we needed and then followed up with the most important piece of the puzzle. A spreadsheet containing the names and addresses of all recipients.
Step 3. Fulfillment and shipping:
Once we had imprints, names, and addresses, all that was left was to gather all of the items, package them together into personalized gift boxes, and ship them directly to the incoming students.
The result?
Stonehill and their incoming students loved it. They received a lot of positive feedback.
Not only did everything look great, but the packages were also delivered on time, and the process was simple, fast, and easy. No need for any Stonehill employees to get involved with shipping, labeling, packing. Everything was done by my fulfillment team.
I'm not a college, how can I use promotional product kits?
- Welcome back to work kits - great for maternity/paternity, sabbaticals, and welcoming back workers after health situations.
- Thank you kits - perfect for workers who meet quarterly or yearly goals. Also, an excellent way to say thank you to new customers for sending you their business. I have a few Real Estate clients that send thank you kits after each closing.
- Referral kits - Thanking those who send you referrals is one of the easiest ways to ensure you keep getting referrals.
- Virtual event swag kits - this is a new one I'm seeing more lately. If you're holding a virtual conference, make sure to send some swag to your recipients. You can even team up with event sponsors for even bigger/better promotional product kits.
